Seal of Sustainability Recipients:

The following are the specific accomplishments that SBI chose to highlight when SBI granted the Seal. The company may use these accomplishments in their own publicity efforts.

Shaw Industries
Seagate Technology
Sonoma County Water Agency
Clover Stornetta Farms
Beijing Glorious Land Agriculture Company, LTD.
  • Earned the SBI Seal of Sustainability for its commitment towards their primary goal of “Green Agriculture”. The objective of the Green Agriculture concept, developed by Glorious Land, is to produce fruits and vegetables that are as free of pesticides and contaminating microorganisms as possible. Total life cycle positively affects agriculture programs and enables Glorious Land to balance the economic, environmental, and social consequences of decisions.
  • Their goal has three equally important Objectives. First, of course, is to produce food with minimal health risks. Second is to reduce contamination of land and water. The third is to grow produce that can be sold on the open market allowing small farms to be profitable.
  • Glorious Land is developing two parallel technological efforts simultaneously in the Green Agriculture movement. One technology stresses the simplest possible materials available to even the poorest, small farmers. These include the use of well-known “quarter circle” solar greenhouses. A second system uses the most recent advances in green house design and modified hydroponic growth media to produce extremely high quality fruit and vegetables.
  • The unifying principle is that Glorious Land has developed and teaches specific cultural techniques and natural materials that can minimize pest damage with much reduced chemical pesticides. They have developed a set of standards for allowable levels of pesticide and microbial residues and a centralized market with a highly sophisticated laboratory to test and certify the actual produce before distributing and marketing under the “Green Agriculture” or “Green Foods” labels.
