JOIN CONGRESS IN ADDRESSING SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS

The Sustainable Business Institute (SBI) is proud to host the Annual Seal of Sustainability™ Awards Ceremony in the DC Capitol. Please join us on Earth Day April 22, 2009 when Members of Congress will present  the SBI Seal of Sustainability to companies from their their respective districts. This will be a tremendous opportunity to promote sustainable business practices to our national leaders, network with colleagues, and learn how other companies are integrating sustainable business practices.

Policymakers, businesses and consumers are working hard to find new ways to balance economic growth and prosperity with long-term sustainability. Companies are looking for creative approaches to strengthening profitability while giving equal attention to social and environmental progress.

The Sustainable Business Institute (SBI) was founded in 1995 to provide companies committed to sustainability a venue for sharing best practices and promoting shared goals. From small main street store fronts to the executive suites of international businesses, an organization’s attention to sustainable business practices has an impact on the bottom-line.

The SBI Seal of Sustainability™ will soon be the “gold standard” for companies and organizations dedicated to sustainability. The Seal is being launched globally. Applications have been received from Europe, China and India.

The Seal of Sustainability gives the public a way to be more discerning when they decide what company to support and to know they are contributing to help restore the natural systems supporting life on our planet.

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS INSTITUTE SEAL PRESENTATION


Jessica Fullmer will provide an overview of SBI and the Seal of Sustainability with an invitation to members of Congress to work with us to promote sustainable business practices through SBI.  Members of congress will present the awards to companies from their respective districts. Each recipient will have five minutes to officially accept their Seal and highlight their specific sustainable business commitment.
